G'day or in Dutch: 'goeiedag',
My name is Ellen te Riele, owner and host of Currimundi Lakeside Bed & Breakfast.
I was born in Rotterdam (the Netherlands) known as the biggest harbour city of the world. I am married to my lovely husband Han and mother of a gorgeous girl called Manon. We lived in Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel, a town which is built -6.74 below NAP (the average level of the North Sea) and is protected by dykes and pumping engines.
I had a career at a Belgium Bank located in Rotterdam in the Cash Management Department as electronic banking specialist. I have been installing, training and giving support of this system for the bigger corporate clients and multi-nationals located in a variety of cities in Europe.
My hobbies are travelling, snow skiing, cooking, sports and being creative especially with fresh flowers.
In April 2004 my family and I emigrated from the Netherlands to Australia to “escape the rat race” and to upgrade our quality of life.
Part of this live change my dream was to establish a Bed & Breakfast close to the beach and central located to general facilities and tourist attractions. We choose Caloundra on the beautiful and diverse Sunshine Coast to call home.
I operate Currimundi Lakeside Bed & Breakfast with passion and love. I warm welcome guests with my homemade afternoon tea and updates guest with information about the local area. I have designed a wide range of creative breakfasts with the Dutch touch. A perfect start to another day with your individually cooked and served gourmet breakfast with an authentic taste of Europe accompanied by a chat and a smile from your host.
I am proud to live in this place on earth and to be host for the tourists who choose Caloundra as their holiday destination. My spare time I give voluntarily to the Bed & Breakfast and Farmstay Association, Currimundi Catchment area and as coordinator of school banking at a local primary school.
I still manage to have an active family life, to do sports and explore the hidden spots on the Sunshine Coast.
